The White Horse Inn in Bridge is just a couple of miles outside Canterbury city centre and has undergone a recent change in ownership, bringing in a new chef and general manager to go along with an upgraded interior facelift. This new team brings a wealth of experience and an exciting new menu to the established pub, along with an exceptional new list of wines, beers and ciders.
A full dining experience is now offered with seating in three separate areas including the bar, our separate fireside area, or our more formal dining room to the rear. The White Horse Inn really is a pub for all seasons, with roaring fires in our two inglenook fireplaces during the winter, and a large sun filled garden at the rear in the summer. There is extensive seating which is found in the garden, served by our permanent barbecue area with hog roast facilities and an outside bar where special events are held throughout the year. The pub is fortunate to have a good sized, off street car park at the side and to the rear.
The pub now offers a new lunchtime menu seven days a week with a separate evening menu supported by a range of daily specials from the board. David Kirton, our new chef, brings his talents to the menu after working for many years in London and Edinburgh, and more locally at highly regarded establishments such at The Marquis at Alkham, Reads in Faversham and the Michelin starred Apicius in Cranbrook.
In the bar our new general manager, Andy Chance, offers his extensive experience of running local Kentish establishments. Andy aims to serve a selection of high quality independent cast ales from our cellar, with a varied range of premium lagers and bottled ciders. Our new wine list covers the globe with a comprehensive range of handpicked fine wines supplied by Biddenden.
The White Horse Inn in the heart of the beautiful village of Bridge dates back to the 16th century, and it really has it all. This is a classic English country pub which offers exceptional food and a well-stocked bar in a warm and inviting environment only a stone’s throw from the centre of Canterbury.
