Outstanding GCSE results for Sevenoaks School’s students
World-leading independent school, Sevenoaks School is celebrating outstanding examination results for Year 11.
94% of the examinations taken by the 157 candidates were awarded A* or A grades. 61 students – over a third of the year group – gained ten A*s or more each and 134 students (over 85%) gained nine or more A* or A grades. All but 20 results out of 1,611 examinations sat were awarded grade B or above.
All students took IGCSEs in Mathematics, English Language and three sciences. The IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) is a two-year programme externally set and marked by the University of Cambridge. We are particularly delighted by the success of our own, externally moderated Sevenoaks School Certificate (SSC) in English Literature, now in its seventh year. We are also thrilled with the results of the Art, Drama, Music, Technology (Robotics) and Technology (Visual Communications) SSCs, which are in their third awarding year.
The Head, Dr. Katy Ricks, said: “These results are excellent and a superb achievement for both students and teachers. We are delighted that our students will start the IB Diploma Programme with such strong qualifications.”
