OH I DO LIKE TO BE BY THE SEA WITH THE DRAFT HOUSE
London-based independent pub group teams up with Moshi Moshi to brew ultimate festival beer.
The Draft House has joined forces with Moshi Moshi to create a limited edition pale ale inspired by the indie label’s uber-cool seaside festival, By The Sea held at Dreamland, Margate this September.
Brewed in collaboration with The Ramsgate Brewery, a local Kent craft brewery, By The Sea festival pale ale will be available to purchase in Draft House pubs from 26th July to quench customer’s thirst over the long summer until the anticipated festival itself, the climax of festival season.
The naturally unfiltered golden pale ale, full of tropical and citrus flavours, is reminiscent of summer days in the sun, with an ABV of 4.5% and a light malty body, it is the perfect session beer for festival season.
Returning for its third year, from September 29 – October 1, By The Sea Festival will see headliners The Libertines, Everything Everything and Metronomy perform to crowds at Dreamland, Margate. Draft House will be hosting the ‘Draft House Stage’ at the festival, curating an amazing line up of music and drinks, including up-and-coming artists and of course, lots of great beer!
Charlie McVeigh, founder and CEO of Draft House said: “As soon as I met Eddie I knew we were going to brew a great beer. The bloke is modest and low-key, but scratch the surface and you find someone supremely confident in his ability to brew the most refreshing, fresh and downright tasty beer. I have hung around a lot of breweries in my time, but the standards and passion at Ramsgate are second to none. Can’t wait to see the reaction to By The Sea Pale Ale in Draft House this summer and in Margate at the festival. I, for one, won’t be drinking much else!”
Michael McClatchey from Moshi Moshi said: “This is the third year for By The Sea and we’re very pleased to finally fulfil our ambition to have our own beer to drink at it. So thanks to Draft House for making that happen and to Ramsgate Brewery for actually making it. We’ll see you in the pub in July and by the seaside in September for music and beer!”
By The Sea festival pale ale is available from Draft House pubs for £4.50, or £22.50 for a six pack to take away. What’s more, anyone that purchases the beer will be entered into a prize draw to win tickets to the festival.
