MCARTHURGLEN DESIGNER OUTLET ASHFORD CELEBRATES STRONG CHRISTMAS TRADING PERFORMANCE MARKING POSITIVE START TO NEW YEAR

McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Ashford has opened its doors to the New Year following a successful Christmas trading performance.

The outlet recorded a positive sales growth for the full eight weeks of Christmas trading, the strongest days being Boxing Day and its consecutive bank holiday, as well as New Year’s Eve. Due to an extended bank holiday following Boxing Day, the outlet saw a footfall increase of 25% year-on-year (YOY) across the two days (26th and 27th December) compared to last year.  The single biggest day for retail footfall was 27th December and for retail sales, Christmas Eve rung in 9% more sales than the same day last year due to the last minute ‘man-dash’. Sales were also up 14% YOY on New Year’s Eve from those searching for last minute outfits and gifts for the evening’s celebrations.

Best selling items throughout December were noted as beauty products, casual clothing and denim.
