Inside the World of 5 Great Poker Players in the UK

Who doesn’t think that being a professional poker player is a dream career? Although many have dreamt of it, few ending up making it in the big leagues. The UK is home to some of the best poker players in the world.

Here are some of the 5 greatest poker players in the UK.

  1. Sam “Tricky” Trickett

At 30 years old, Sam Trickett has lived out the poker dream. He has a jaw-dropping $20 million in live tournament winnings, and almost four times as much as any other player in the United Kingdom. A failed career as a professional footballer due to injury led to a successful career in poker.

Trickett is among the new generation of poker players, and he was drawn to the game after its increased online popularity back in early 2000. He shot to international fame when he lost the Big One for One Drop heads up against Antonio Esfandiari, however he still earned $10 million for that loss and went on to become the fifth highest earner in tournament play of all time.
