How to Treat Yourself After a Long Day

You’ve got to get the kids ready for and to school, clean the house, and work all in the same day. It’s exhausting, right? Many busy mums abandon their own needs for their children or their work, but while your days are very hectic, you have to remember to treat yourself too. Here are some ways to reward yourself after a long, stressful day.

Treat Sore Muscles

After a long day, your neck, shoulder, and the back area can feel extremely stiff and painful. This can be due to many reasons, mainly stress and repeated strain in the area. However, there are some simple ways to get some relief from the pain and treat yourself to some time alone at the same time. A long hot bath is inexpensive and can be very relaxing. Epsom salts will help relieve your aching muscles, and to make it even more relaxing – or romantic if you want to share it with your partner – add some bubble bath, rose petals, light some candles, and play some soothing music. This is a good option if you don’t have a babysitter for your kids, as you won’t be away for too long!

Another way to take care of those tired muscles is to have a massage. Massages can easily help any untreated pains you may not have had the time to deal with, as well as being thoroughly relaxing.  Get some time away from kids and make it a day out with friends or your partner if you can find a babysitter, or whilst the kids are at school. Massages aren’t as expensive as you think, check out to see some massage options.

Have a Pamper Session

A manicure and pedicure combo is essential in a pamper session, and is guaranteed to boost your confidence, glamour, and your nail strength! This is a perfect way to have some time to yourself and to relax. You can go to a professional or a nail salon, but these can sometimes be expensive.

If your skin is tired and dehydrated, try a face mask. There are lots of different face masks available, all with various skin benefits. This is a quick and easy way to relax and get rid of any impurities such as blackheads or an oily T zone. If you have lots of ingredients in your house, you can take this a step further and make your own mask using simple ingredients, which often include oats and tea.

Have a Night Out

If you haven’t seen your friends in a while, then a meal out is a perfect way to catch up. It doesn’t have to be anywhere too expensive to be an enjoyable night out, but if you have the extra cash then treat yourself to a nice fancy restaurant. This is the perfect way to relax, chat with your friends and if you want to take the night one step further, you can go to a wine bar or pub afterwards for some drinks – just make sure you’re not out too late if you have work the next day.

When you’re a busy mum treating yourself seems selfish, but treating yourself will help you to be a better, less stressed, mother.
